Amid the escalation of tension in the Middle East, the Brazilian Embassy in Beirut advises Brazilians living in Lebanon or passing through to consider leaving the country “by their own means, until normality returns.”
In a statement, the embassy also asks that Brazilians who are not in Lebanon do not travel to the country at this time. “For nationals who consider it essential to stay in Lebanon, avoid staying in the south of the country, in border areas or in other areas of recognized risk.”
In the statement, the embassy also recommends that Brazilians adopt all the security guidelines suggested by Lebanese authorities, paying attention to areas considered at risk, and reinforcing precautionary measures.
Other guidelines listed by the embassy include not taking part in crowds and protests; trying to stay informed about the current situation in the country and following communication channels; checking that your passport is valid for at least six months; and making sure you have a Brazilian nationality document (such as a birth certificate) and/or a valid Brazilian or Lebanese identity card.
To keep your registration data updated with the consular section of the embassy, you must complete the consular registration form.

Iran has vowed to respond to the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyehlast week in Tehran – one of a series of assassinations of senior figures in the Palestinian militant group as the war between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip intensifies.
Both Iran and Hamas accuse Israel of carrying out the killing and have vowed to retaliate. Israel has neither claimed responsibility for the killing nor denied it.
The attack was one of several that killed senior figures in Hamas and the Lebanese Hezbollah movement, fueling concerns that the war in Gaza could escalate into a regional conflict.
Following threats from Iran and its allies, Hamas and Hezbollah, the Pentagon has announced that the US military will send new fighter jets and warships to the Middle East.
