With the away win, Alvinegro de General Severiano reached 73 points, three ahead of Verdão.

Playing at home, Palmeiras dominated the first minutes of the first half, putting a lot of pressure on Botafogo, who defended their opponent’s attacks. The first came after just six minutes, when Raphael Veiga raised the ball in the opponent’s area during a corner kick and defender Gustavo Gómez rose a lot to finish with a very dangerous header.

Two minutes later, it was Raphael Veiga who arrived in danger, who hit the ball from the edge of the area for John’s defense. In the 10th minute, Alvinegro fans became worried when Angolan defender Bastos left the field feeling his right thigh and ended up being replaced.

But concern gave way to joy in the 18th minute, when, after a rehearsed corner kick, Gregore received the ball inside the Palmeiras area and placed the ball past goalkeeper Weverton.

In the 22nd minute, Verdão had its best opportunity in the first half, when Marcos Rocha placed the ball in the area with a throw-in, Gustavo Gómez scored and Rony arrived with the first shot to hit the opponent’s post. In the 49th minute, Palmeiras had their last great opportunity of the first half, with a free kick from Raphael Veiga that went very close to the angle defended by John.

The final stage began with the team led by Portuguese coach Abel Ferreira creating two good opportunities to score in a row, with Rony in the 7th minute and Flaco López, who came on during the break, in the 9th minute. Artur Jorge’s team managed to respond in the 21st minute, with a shot from Marlon Freitas that ended up going wide.

Two minutes later Palmeiras were one man down, after the referee, with the help of VAR (video referee), sent off full-back Marcos Rocha, who hit Igor Jesus in the face. The numerical advantage once again encouraged Botafogo, who managed to extend it to 2-0 after 27 minutes. Goalkeeper John sent a long ball to Igor Jesus, who headed it to Savarino, who, with extreme freedom, only had the job of hitting the opponent’s goalkeeper.

Facing a clearly weakened opponent, General Severiano’s team still managed to score the third in the 43rd minute, when Savarino took a corner kick and defender Adryelson rose too high to score with a header. Five minutes later Verdão managed to score with a beautiful shot from Richard Ríos, but the final victory went to Fogão.
