The Brazilian men’s football team will have at least two changes to the team that takes the field against Tunisia, at 4:30 pm (Brasília time) this Tuesday (18), in the last friendly of the year, at the Decathlon Arena, in Lille (France). The player Wesley (Rome/Italy) will be the starter at right-back, replacing Gabriel Magalhães, who was cut due to injury. Éder Militão will return to defense, where he will play alongside Marquinhos. Last Saturday (15), in the victory against Senegal (2-0), Militão played at right-back. The friendlies are preparatory to the 2026 World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
Wesley’s lineup was announced by Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti during a press conference held before Amarelinha’s last training session. The coach revealed that he is still evaluating other changes.
“We are thinking about making some changes for tomorrow’s game. I want to evaluate today’s training to see how the players recovered from the effort in the game with Senegal. They are fine, unfortunately we had Gabriel Magalhães injured, we will replace him with Wesley on the right side. We want to have a good game and continue in the same dynamic against Senegal, which was beautiful in its attitude, intensity and quality”, projected the coach, before the training closed to the press.
Ancelotti also said that the team will continue to play in a 4-2-4 formation, but variations may occur depending on the team’s performance on the field.
We have to have a very clear idea of what to do. The system with many up front worked, but we also have to think about a more defensive formation as plan B. I liked the system [ofensivo] because the attitude of the players up front was good, the work they do in the defensive aspect is important for the team. If they don’t do well, we have two options: change the player or the system, he concluded.
After the clash against Tunisia, the team will meet again on the next FIFA Date (March 2026), for friendlies against France and Croatia in the United States.
Brazil’s probable lineup against Tunisia this Tuesday (17) should be with Ederson, Wesley, Éder Militão, Marquinhos and Alex Sandro; Casemiro and Bruno Guimarães; Estêvão, Matheus Cunha, Vinicius Júnior and Rodrygo.
