In 2024, 133.1 billion liters of automotive liquid fuels were sold in Brazil. In the case of gasoline C (with the mixture of anhydrous ethanol), there were 44.19 billion liters, a 4% reduction compared to 2023.

Hydrate fuel ethanol had 21.66 billion liters in sale, an increase of 33.4%. Regarding diesel B (with the biodiesel mixture), 67.25 billion liters were sold, growth of 2.6% compared to the year 2023.
The data were presented by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) during the 2025 Fuel Market Evaluation Seminar (base year 2024).
The event was hybrid, held in Rio de Janeiro, with the presence of market agents and other stakeholders, and broadcast live on the platform Teams. The seminar was opened by the directors of ANP Fernando Moura, Symone Araújo and Mariana Cavadinha.
In the year, the national production of gasoline A (pure, still without the addition of anhydrous ethanol) corresponded to 90% of the total internal supply, being the remaining 10% supplied by imports. In the case of diesel A (still without biodiesel mix), imports accounted for about 25% of sales.
Cylinder gas
In the case of LPG (cylinder gas), 7.57 million cubic meters were sold in the country by 2024, an increase of 2.2% compared to 2023. Imports corresponded to 25% of sales.
Biodiesel was growth growth, reflecting the increase in 2024 from the content of this biofuel in diesel of fossil origin, from 12% to 14%. 8.96 billion liters were sold in the year, while by 2023 the total reached 7.34 billion.
The year ended with 131,278 ANP regulated agents in the supply sector, among them: 44,678 gas stations; 58,283 LPG resellers; 384 distributors (among those of liquid fuels, LPG, aviation fuels, solvents and asphalt); and 152 lubricant producers.
