Brazil records 88 deaths from covid-19 in 24 hours

Vaccine immunity decline is smaller in infected before use

Data released by the Ministry of Health on Monday (17) indicate that 5,532 new cases of covid-19 were recorded in the country in 24 hours. In the same period, 88 deaths of victims of the virus were confirmed. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 687,243 deaths from covid-19 have been recorded. According to the epidemiological bulletin, the total number of confirmed cases of the disease is 34,754,590.

States

The state of São Paulo leads the number of cases, with 6.12 million, followed by Minas Gerais (3.88 million) and Paraná (2.75 million). The lowest number of cases is registered in Acre (149.7 thousand), followed by Roraima (175 thousand) and Amapá (178.2 thousand).

According to the most recent data, São Paulo has the highest number of deaths caused by the disease, 175,287, followed by Rio de Janeiro (75,765) and Minas Gerais (63,837). Acre (2,029), Amapá (2,164) and Roraima (2,174) have the lowest number of deaths.

Vaccination

According to the Ministry of Health, 485,947,325 doses of vaccines against covid-19 were applied, 180 million with the first dose and 161.8 million with the second dose. The single dose has been given to more than 5 million people.
