With the three points won on Thursday, the team led by Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti, who has already entered the field classified for the next edition of the World Cup, reaches the last round of the qualifiers occupying the 28 -point classification.
Defense attack
The Brazilian National Team entered the field with great favoritism against a Chile that occupies the lantern of the qualifiers. Faced with a clearly inferior opponent, Carlo Ancelotti set Brazil with an attack quartet formed by Gabriel Martinelli, João Pedro, Stephen and Raphinha. Both by tactical and players characteristic, Brazil’s attack has moved a lot from the first few minutes, which created many difficulties in defending an opponent who created little.
And it was in a collective plot of Brazilian strikers that the team opened the scoring in the 37th minute of the first half. In a quick counterattack on the left, defender Douglas Santos tabulated with João Pedro before playing for Raphinha, who kicked for the partial defense of the goalkeeper Vigouroux. Stephen then took advantage of the ball left to hit a half bike to open the marker.

Despite such a dominance of Brazil, Chile had a great opportunity just before the break, when defender Paulo Díaz went up freed up to head and forcing goalkeeper Alisson to make a great save.
At the beginning of the final stage the Brazilian team had its worst moment in the confrontation, offering spaces for a Chile that started to risk more in the attack. Realizing that his team was beginning to lose control of the match, coach Carlo Ancelotti made two changes that gave Brazil new life: Lucas Paquetá’s entrance instead of Gabriel Martinelli and Luiz Henrique’s in Stephen’s vacancy.
And they needed only 40 seconds to show their decision -making power. Luiz Henrique made a big individual move on the left and crossed in Paquetá’s head, which he hung to the bottom of the goal defended by Vigouroux.

From then on the more than 57,000 fans present at the Maracanã stadium began to encourage the national team, which returned to the confrontation and reached the third in 30 minutes. Luiz Henrique (who showed that he deserves more minutes in the national team) again made a great individual move, this time on the right, and hit the ball hard to explode in the crossbar. Defensive midfielder Bruno Guimarães had only the job of going to leave to leave his own.
Next commitment
Brazil returns to action next Tuesday (9), when it measures strength with Bolivia, from 20:30 (Brasília time), at El Alto Municipal Stadium, in the city of El Alto.
