The CBF recalled that Brasilia is one of the cities with the best air networks in the country, that it has already been the scene of major sporting events, and that the candidacy has the support of the governor of the Brazilian capital, Ibaneis Rocha.

Among the football events that have had matches in the city, the 2014 World Cup, the 2013 Confederations Cup, the 2021 U17 World Cup and the 2021 Copa América stand out, as well as some of the commitments of the Brazilian team for World Cup qualifiers. .
The CBF also highlighted that the Mané Garrincha, with a praised recently renovated grass, was the scene of two of the matches with the largest number of spectators in this year’s Brazilian Championship: a Vasco da Gama-Palmeiras with 65,000 spectators and a Flamengo-Criciuma with 60,000 attendees.
The possible choice of Brasilia as the venue for the 2025 Libertadores single-match final would mean the return of the event to Brazil after two years, since the Maracaná in Rio de Janeiro was the stage where Fluminense won the 2023 title after winning to River Plate.
