After this setback, Brazil ended its participation in the Paris Games with only two victories, against Spain and Angola, both in the initial phase of the competition. The defeat to Norway was the fourth in the current edition of the mega sporting event, after defeats against Hungary, the Netherlands and France.

Defeat to Norway

Norway, which has already won Olympic medals in women’s handball on seven occasions, proved to be a tough opponent from the first minute of the match. Betting on plays on the flanks, and counting on several mistakes in the Brazilian defense, the Europeans reached the break with a significant advantage on the scoreboard: 16 to 8.

In the final stage, Brazil found many difficulties in attack, while Norway continued to take advantage of the opportunities created to extend and close the match at 32 to 15.
