After three days of disputes in Marrakech (Morocco), Brazil concluded the Paralympic Athletics Grand Prix at the top of the medal table. This Saturday (17), the country did not repeat the incredible dominance of the first two days, when it totaled 20 gold medals, but took the podium eight times – one of them in first place -, guaranteeing the first place among the 40 participating countries. In total, there were 21 golds, 13 silvers and two bronzes.

The highlight of the final day was Lorena Spoladore, champion in the long jump class T11 (for athletes with visual impairments). She jumped 4.48m and won her third podium in this edition, along with gold in the 200m and silver in the 100m.
Other Brazilian athletes also increased their medal collection in Marrakech this Saturday. Jardênia Félix Barbosa, for example, won second place in the 400 meters of the event that brought together classes T13, T20 and T37 (athletes with intellectual disabilities). Jardênia, who finished the course in 59s28, had already won the gold in the long jump the day before.
Thiago Paulino, in the F57 class (for wheelchair users), won silver in the discus throw, with 46.02m. He had already been gold in the shot put on Friday (16).
Over the course of the three days, several Brazilian athletes, who had already achieved significant results in the Paralympic Games in Tokyo, last year, once again stood out. One of these athletes was Beth Gomes, from the F52 class (for wheelchair users), gold medalist in the discus throw in Japan and who in Morocco registered the new Paralympic world record in shot put.
