Brazil recorded 12,613 new cases of covid-19 in 24 hours across the country. According to the state and municipal departments, 99 deaths from complications associated with the disease were confirmed. The data are in the update of the Ministry of Health released this Sunday.
With the new data, the total infections by the new coronavirus during the pandemic reached 30,791,220. The number of cases of covid-19 in follow-up is at 293,574.
With today’s figures, the total number of deaths has reached 665,627. There are still 3,212 deaths under investigation. The occurrences involve cases in which the patient died, but the investigation into the cause, whether it was covid-19 or not, still requires additional tests and procedures.
So far, 29,832,019 people have recovered from Covid-19, which corresponds to 96.9% of those infected since the beginning of the pandemic.
According to the bulletin, the Federal District and seven states did not update the data this Sunday: Maranhão, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso, Rio de Janeiro, Roraima and Tocantins.

This Sunday, The state of Public Health Emergency of National Importance has come to an end (Espin), decreed due to the covid-19 pandemic.
The ordinance with the decision was signed by the Minister of Health, Marcelo Queiroga, on April 22, and provided for 30 days for states and municipalities to adapt to the new reality.
The Brazilian government’s decision was taken based on the cooler epidemiological scenario and the progress of the Vaccination Campaign in the country. According to the Ministry of Health, despite the measure, no public health policy will be interrupted.
