The assistant police officer, Cristina Pereira, was left with several serious injuries after a pitched battle registered in the Cerrito neighborhood, in the city of Fernando de la Mora, on Monday afternoon. Several women tried to avoid the arrest of their neighbors who had hindered the apprehension of an aggravated robbery suspect.
A camp battle it occurred in Fernando de la Mora during a police procedure that sought the apprehension of the alleged perpetrator of an aggravated robbery, identified as Pedro Gabriel Alvarenga Villanueva.
Some police officers received a complaint of a punishable act and went to the site in the company of the victim, who recognized the alleged perpetrator. It was at that moment that two men began to obstruct police procedure to avoid the arrest of the suspect.
Finding themselves overwhelmed, these police officers asked their colleagues for support and it was there that other agents came, including the assistant officer Cristina Pereira, to proceed to delay these two subjects who were hindering police work. However, at that moment more residents of the area began to arrive and rebuked the uniformed officers.

“I decided to separate a lady and she is he gets upset and starts attacking me. Another woman pushed me and then another came to hit me, they unbalanced me and I fell to the ground. I had no opportunity to act against them because I was protecting myself. We had to cope with the situation however we could. We were in a critical situation. We only use shots from the weapon in extreme cases, which is why we did not use it on this occasion,” said Pereira, who suffered serious injuries.
In a chat with the GEN channel, the victim announced that she will take action against the five women who attacked her and pointed out that they are fully identified, but that they are free, since only the three men could be detained.
Pereira stressed that she has the support of the police institution and that she also has a legal professional who will accompany her to make her complaint to the Prosecutor’s Office against the aggressors.
