The representatives of Brazil in the 49er class are Marco Grael and Gabriel Simões, while Samuel Albrecht and Gabriela Nicolino secured themselves in Nacra 17.

In the dispute, which began last Tuesday (7), in addition to the natural nervousness of participating in such an important race, the athletes had to deal with winds of up to 23 knots, in addition to rough seas and many waves.

“The goal was to focus on the last few days, because we’re up against teams that have been sailing together for over ten years. They were challenging regattas. Gabriel Simões and I are a new and happy duo to win the vacancy. Now it’s time to train and stay focused”, declared Marco Grael.

The Pan American Games in Santiago will be held between October 20 and November 5, 2023.
