Brazil debuted with victory in the World Cup of football for cerebral palsy (PC), formerly called “soccer of seven”. This Monday (2), the national team defeated Thailand 3-1, ending the first round in the lead of Group B. The tournament is played in Salou (Spain).

The game was more complicated than expected, with the Thais closing in on the defense, making it difficult for the Brazilians to enter the area. The Asian resistance succumbed in the eight minutes of the first half (each period in PC football is 30 minutes). Following a recovered ball near the edge of the area, Heitor Ramires hit the ball first and hit goalkeeper Chanon Wonghangmit’s right corner.
In the final stage, Heitor swung the nets again, at the fourth minute, taking a risk from the middle, without much force, but counting on the bounce of the ball, which deceived the Thai archer. The Asian team managed to reduce four minutes later, with Bannasak Nuepho, who was launched behind the defense and hit the exit of goalkeeper José Mário. At 20, however, Ângelo Matheus scored at the entrance of the area and scored the third and final goal for the Brazilians, who still sent three balls to the crossbar throughout the match in Salou.

In PC football, athletes are divided into three classes: FT1, FT2 and FT3. In FT1 are those with greater commitment. Each team must have at least one of them among the seven holders. FT3 brings together players with a lower degree of paralysis. Only one can be on the pitch on each team.
The rules are similar to conventional football. In addition to the duration of the game, other differences are in the number of athletes per team (seven), in the size of the field (70 meters by 50 meters) and the goal (two meters by five meters), in the absence of offside and in the throw-in.
