The Brazilian team scored the fourth consecutive victory in the Women’s Volleyball World Cup and practically assured its presence in the quarterfinals of the competition, in Rotterdam (Holland). This Friday (7), the Brazilians defeated the Dutch hosts by 3 sets 0 (25/19, 25/19 and 25/20). Brazil, led by coach José Roberto Guimarães, is in second place in the group E, with 20 points, behind leaders Italy, with two more. The top four teams in each bracket advance to the quarterfinals.
The Brazilians, two-time Olympic champions, are looking for an unprecedented title at the Worlds. The team faces Belgium (5th) at noon (Brasilia time) this Saturday (8), in the last confrontation of the second phase of the competition. If they win again, the selection advances straight to the quarterfinals, regardless of other results.

Brazil’s best performances on the court were captain Gabi (19 points), center Carol (15, nine of which were blocking) and forward Pri Daroit (11). On the Dutch side, the highlights were Daalderop (11) and Lohuis (10).
Brazil disputes the second phase of the World Cup in Group E with seven other nations (Italy, China, Belgium, Japan, Holland (Netherlands), Puerto Rico and Argentina). In Group F are eight more teams: Serbia, United States, Turkey, Thailand, Dominican Republic, Poland, Canada and Germany.

The Brazilian team competes in the World Cup with the setters Macris and Roberta, the opposites Kisy and Lorenne, the tips Gabi, Rosamaria, Pri Daroit and Tainara, the centrals Carol, Carol Gattaz, Julia Kudiess and Lorena, the liberos Nyeme and Natinha.
