For many people, talking about Brasília is thinking about politics, civic tourism and architecture. But, very close to the federal capital, nature surprises. In just one weekend – or even in one day – it is possible to abseil, hike through the savannah, bathe in a waterfall and contemplate the sunset on the central plateau.
THE TV Brazil reruns today (28), from 10 pm, episode of the program Reporting Paths that makes an ecological tourism route between the Federal District and the state of Goiás, covering several places that shelter waterfalls, striking and typical landscapes of the cerrado. Mercedes Bustamante, professor at the Ecology Department at the University of Brasília, explains that the Cerrado biome is one of the oldest surfaces on the American Continent. “This means that we have a huge diversity of landscapes, a surface that has already gone through several important events in the history of the formation of the continent and this has generated this huge amount of landscapes, relief, topography”.
Our team accompanied tourism specialist Karina Galvão and her daughter Alice on a trip from Brasília to Balneário das Lajes, in Cristalina (GO), passing through Pedra Chapéu do Sol, considered one of the wonders of the state of Goiás. According to Karina, walking through the Cerrado is connecting with yourself. Alice has fun with each Beetle ride with her mother towards the Cerrado waterfalls. “When we travel, it takes a while, so we enjoy the road,” she says.
The program also shows a group preparing to abseil in Buraco das Andorinhas, located in Formosa (GO). The adventure ended in a cave, with the right to dive. “Practically every weekend we bring people here. There are many foreigners, many people are already looking for the Buraco das Andorinhas, which is not yet well known. We take diving flashlights that allow us to visualize the blue color of the water”, explains adventure guide Maurício Martins Júnior.
At each place visited, tourists talk about how surprised they are to discover that all this is very close to the federal capital. “I love this about Brasília, you in the city, in some places, can be close to nature, see the animals, many birds. And will leave in an hour already finds total nature! So, it’s amazing! I think that Brasilia is really good,” says Colombian anthropologist Juanita Rodríguez.
This edition of the program also shows the Brasília National Park, Paraíso na Terra (DF), Fazenda Bonita in São João da Aliança (GO), in addition to Salto do Itiquira and Fazenda Bisnau, located in Formosa (GO).
