The BR-050 is expected to receive improvements over the next five years, in the stretch, with a total length of 436.6 kilometers, under the concession of Ecovias, is located between Cristalina, Goiás, and Delta in the state of Minas Gerias. For the execution of the works, the concessionaire will have the financial support of R $ 325 million from the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES).
The financing is part of the public offer of R $ 550 million made by Ecovias for investments in its concession through an emission of encouraged debentures.
“The process was coordinated by BNDES, with the other R $ 225 million acquired by 446 investment funds. Debentures will supplement funding approved 10 years ago by BNDES, for the road lot granted to the concessionaire in 2013, for 30 years,” said the bank.
For the president of BNDES, Aloizio Mercadante, “BR-050 has a relevant logistical role in the integration of the Midwest producing markets with the Southeast Consumer Centers and ports, being one of the main road corridors for the flow of agricultural and industrial production between Goiás, Minas Gerais and São Paulo”.
“BNDES support is critical to improving infrastructure for load vehicles linked to the agribusiness chain, such as grains, fertilizers and inputs, as well as industrial and fuel transportation, contributing to the growth of the economy and job creation,” added Mercadante.

According to the bank, the financing will allow works for implementation of marginal roads in urban and industrial areas in the cities of Cristalina, Campo Alegre de Goiás and Catalan, in the state of Goiás, as well as Araguari, Minas Gerais, reducing the interference of local traffic over the main flow of BR-050.
Also foreseen are pedestrian catwalks in municipalities with large urban movement or informal crossings, such as the cities of Minas Gerais of Araguari and Uberaba and the Goiana Ipameri and Cumari. The works that are expected to generate 557 direct and indirect jobs are also aimed at improving safe traffic safety with reduced accident risks.
