The Social Security Bank (BPS) will allocate some 150 million dollars from the National Health Fund (Fonasa) to reimburse nearly 145,000 taxpayers the surplus contributions corresponding to the 2021 financial year, assured its president, Alfredo Cabrera.
From this Tuesday, September 6, all the information referred to (amount and calculation) to the refund will be available for consultation in the bps websiteassured the hierarch. Also from that day, the line 0800-2016 and Whatsapp 092 366 272 will be enabled so that taxpayers can find out if they are eligible for reimbursement.
In turn, those people who have a BPS Personal User are receiving in their email, in advance, the receipt with the details of their return.
Workers who in 2021 have had an average monthly income of more than $89,513 and retirees or pensioners with an average of more than $96,974 (nominal values) may have a refund.

From September 19, the payment will be made according to the following schedule, according to the last digit of the identity card:
0 – 1: since 9/19
2 – 3: from 9/20
4 – 5: from 9/21
6 – 7: from 9/22
8 – 9: from 9/23
They will be able to collect through a bank account, electronic money instrument (Midinero, DeAnda, Prex and OCA Blue) or presenting their identity card at Abitab, Redpagos, Anda, El Dorado supermarkets or at the BPS Headquarters Building in Montevideo (Colonia 1851, ground floor).
To manage the form of collection, they must go to the bank or authorized premises, not to the BPS.
On September 19, all those who have opted for the deposit in a bank account, electronic money instrument, or those who choose this option before 6:00 p.m. on September 14 will also receive a payment. Those who make this decision later will receive the deposit 72 business hours after the option has been made. If they have already carried out this procedure in previous years, they do not have to carry it out again.
From September 6, the web Agenda will be enabled to receive face-to-face attention in Montevideo (Headquarters Building and Sarandí 570), in case the return is withheld due to incorrect information. As for face-to-face care within the country, this will be managed by each agency or branch.
It is recalled that those who do not have a BPS Personal User can request it with their identity card at Abitab, Redpagos, Anda, El Dorado supermarkets and Uruguayan Post throughout the country.
