Banco Popular Dominicano reported that in 2025 it achieved excellent results in its main indicators, which allowed it to consolidate its growth strategy and channel financial resources to meet the needs of the economic sectors and the population in general.
The financial entity focused on productive, commercial and entrepreneurial activities, while deepening its contribution to the economic, social and environmental development of the country.
During a meeting with media executives and public opinion leaders, the executive president of Banco Popular, Christopher Paniagua, presented the entity’s preliminary results at the end of 2025, reaffirming the bank’s leadership as the main private capital financial entity in the country.
“These results are based on the efforts of a committed team, robust technological and operational platforms, and constant innovation, but no less important, they are backed by the support and trust received from our clients, shareholders and related parties,” he said.
He highlighted that Banco Popular at the end of 2025, its total assets reached RD$929,748 million, an increase of 9.4% compared to the previous year. In the last five years, Popular has doubled the size of its assets.
The net loan portfolio amounted to RD$579,145 million, for a growth of RD$42,134 million. This increase was mainly driven by the increase in the commercial portfolio in RD$38,700 million, 11.6% more, followed by the mortgage portfolio in RD$6,367 million, 8.4%.
Total deposits totaled RD$702,933 million, with an increase of RD$57,200 million for 8.9% more compared to 2024, driven by the increase in all products. At the end of 2025, Popular reported net profits of RD$29,737 million, after deducting RD$8,085 million corresponding to the payment of Income Tax.
Paniagua highlighted that Popular managed to maintain one of the lowest delinquency rates in the system, standing at 1.55%, below the average for commercial banks.
