Parliament voted to exempt VAT (22%) on bottled water, in light of the water crisis that the country’s capital is going through.
The text was unanimously voted: “Value Added Tax (VAT) exemption for the disposal of mineral waters and sodas, from the day after the promulgation of this law and until the date of completion of the emergency declaration water”.
The Broad Front proposed, in turn, not to allow the rise in the price of bottled water, which was not approved by the ruling party.
The next step is for the Executive Branch to enact the resolution.
