With equality at home, Tigre was in 5th place in the classification with 46 points, wasting a good opportunity to enter the G4 (classification zone for access to Series A). Pantera fell to 16th place (first outside the relegation zone) after the draw, with 32 points.
The first stage of the match was marked by a low technical level, with few opportunities being created from side to side. However, Vila Nova managed to be more efficient and took advantage of one of the chances they created to score the winning goal. In the 44th minute, full-back Elias raised the ball in the area, Henrique Almeida took advantage of the shot, goalkeeper João Carlos partially saved it and Alesson took advantage of the rebound to open the scoring.
In the final stage, Botafogo-SP launched an attack and was rewarded in the 26th minute, when Victor Andrade took advantage of a moment of inattention from the opposing defense to make a move and put the ball in the back of the goal.
