Botafogo guaranteed their presence in the third preliminary phase of the Copa Libertadores da América. Classification was achieved this Wednesday (25), with a 2-0 victory over Nacional Potosí (Bolivia) at the Nilton Santos stadium, in Rio de Janeiro.

After being defeated by a score of 1-0 in the first leg, played at 4,200 meters above sea level in the city of Potosí, at the Víctor Agustín Ugarte stadium, Alvinegro de General Severiano needed a triumph at home to stay alive in the competition.
And the team led by Argentine coach Martín Anselmi managed to achieve the necessary result to advance thanks to goals from full-back Alex Telles, just 4 minutes into the first half, and midfielder Danilo, just before the break.
In the next stage of the competition, Botafogo will face Barcelona de Guayaquil (Ecuador).
Bahia eliminated
Those who do not progress in the competition are Bahia, who were defeated by O’Higgins (Chile) 4-3 on penalties. The place had to be defined in maximum penalties because in regulation time Tricolor triumphed 2-1, after losing 1-0 in the first match.
