The municipal secretary of Culture, Sarita Mansilla, presented the award to the winner of the 2021 national literature contest, Boris Paredes. The work “The school is pure story” collects a series of stories about childhood of the author.
“They are not children’s books, my stories are for children,” explains the writer from Sucre who lives in El Alto. He takes the opportunity to emphasize that childhood “is the richest stage of every human being.”
The prize consists of a economic endowment of Bs 30,000, in addition to the printing of 500 copies of the winning title. Paredes will receive 50 copies.
Mansilla highlighted the scope that the literature prize has reached as well as the painting and sculpture prizes that are held in parallel. The awards ceremony was postponed due to the pandemic. “We have already been able to meet to deliver it,” said the secretary of culture.
