“In Chile we know how terrible the forest fires and how important the help of brother countries is to combat them. We will continue supporting each other!”, published the Chilean president, Gabriel Boric, on his X account.
In the post, he referred to the gratitude of the Bolivian Foreign Minister, Celinda Sosa, for her support “with the Airbus H145 helicopter, which is already operating in our territory and will discharge 1,230 liters.”
Since last September 30, Bolivia declared a national disaster situation due to the magnitude of the fires.
He Airbus H145 helicopter is a twin-turbine aircraft, with capacity to discharge up to 1,230 liters of water. It is equipped to directly combat forest fires. With a cruising speed of 248 km/h and a flight range of 2 hours and 39 minutes, the H145 can transport eight people, being a key tool in extinguishing fires, the Government described.
This Monday, the second Electra Tanker tanker plane arrived in the country. On September 21, the first Electra Tanker T481 tanker plane and the Airbus BK117 D3 helicopter with Bambi Bucket had arrived, which are already working to put out the fires in the country.
