Hand in hand with Orsi from Radio Rio Branco
During his recent visit to the department of Cerro Largo, the candidate for the Presidency of the Republic for the Frente Amplio confirmed that he will debate after October 27 with whoever wins at the level of the Parties that form part of the Republican Coalition.
Regarding border policies, when asked by Augustin Figueredo of Radio Rio Brancosaid that several proposals that have been handled during this period of Government should be unified, one of them presented by Senator Sergio Botana.
“They know very well that this is the key to an electoral campaign. We all know that it is a one-on-one dialogue with the people. This is irreplaceable. Of course, any business organization, union, or neighbor who wants to know what we support or what we think, we will go. Now we have to show ourselves and compare ourselves with other candidates from a pseudo multiplicity of Parties. The day they decide who their candidate is, which will be in October, then we will go to the debate that is established by Law.” confirmed Yamandú Orsi.
“The Parties that today make up the Government Coalition already decided a long time ago that they will go together again, even having different Programs, which is strange because as one of them said, the only objective that at least moved him and that had to move the rest was to defeat the Front” he added.
“With a negative strategy as it is proposed, even with specialists in negative campaigns, I prefer not to get involved. They brought an outside specialist for that. I don’t get involved because there is nothing to gain, always something to lose. On the other hand, that does a lot of damage to democracy.” the opposition candidate said.
“I prefer dialogue with the people and when the ruling party decides who its candidate is, we will have to go to the debate as the law says. Everything else is fireworks.” he insisted.
BORDER POLICIES
Orsi said there are many proposals for border areas. “There are several” synthesized. “We must seek a unification of proposals” he said. “The Frente Amplio has its own, Andrés Limas had tried some. “One thing that complicates the solution is what we call it and how far the border-oriented policies go. It is one thing to talk about Artigas, Chuy and Rivera and another thing to talk about Melo, which is not the same as Rio Branco.” he stated. “As for how flexible that is, we have to come to an agreement one day because I understand the proposals of the people of Melo very clearly, specifically the merchants with whom I met.
