Mayor López awaits answers to population needs
With the participation of national and regional authorities from Uruguay and Brazil, the Rio-Yaguarón border committee met on Tuesday.
Consulted by Radio Río Branco and The daily professional, The mayor of the municipality of Rio Branco said to share words of Mayor Morel in the opening of the meeting in that more solutions are needed to the problem that border populations live.
“As the mayor said Christian Morel in the opening, hopefully the solutions arrive and that they are not instances that we have been seeing 10 years ago that we are in politics that they really do not have solutions, they have no answers for the needs and realities of our border.” He stressed Federico López.
“Yes, this time we were the hosts, we did not participate in the organization of all this. We are to listen, to learn and obviously to contribute what corresponds to the municipality of Rio Branco” said.
“We are very interested in here come out a lot of solutions because it is real that there are many needs. The bureaucracy is very large and does not allow to solve themes, as the mayor himself said, that when a Uruguayan dies on the Brazilian side or vice versa not to be able to make the transfer or have to wait many days to solve a subject as sensitive as that” The mayor of Rio Branco raised.
Concrete solutions to people’s problems
“It is an important work table, but hopefully the next one is with solutions because there are many needs to contemplate here on the border” said.
“There is also bureaucracy to be able to pass to Brazil in official cars, to be able to cross in a remise to transfer students since we always talk about binational proposals, about the possibilities of study that are on the Brazilian side that are very important for our young people. There are a lot of things, a lot of obstacles and border aspects to be contemplated” López insisted.
Two years ago, the Portuguese courses that had so much demand were here in this area of the department. “I was informing myself and had almost 40 students” revealed. “Yes, we talk about the border and brotherhood between the two borders, we believe that those courses that have no cost for people, for the student are fundamental.”
A valid area but some achievements have to be seen
The highest authority of the municipal government considers that the border committee is a valid area but that once and for all the results must be seen. “The issue of cars that are accumulated in the border crossing was touched on what really is a disaster.
