Boluarte highlights actions against illegal mining: "This government has acted with responsibility"

In his Message to La Nación For national holidays, the president Dina Boluarte He announced the implementation of the National Strategy for the Reduction and Interdiction of illegal Mining to 2030, an initiative that seeks to face this illegal activity.

“Determined to fight illegal mining, our government approved this new tool with clear goals, inter -institutional articulation and firmness against crimes such as human trafficking, hired, extortion and money laundering,” said Boluarte before Congress.

The Head of State pointed out that the strategy involves 16 entities of the State and has been deployed strongly in critical areas such as Pataz (La Libertad) and Madre de Dios. In Pataz, more than 1,140 patrols have been carried out, generating losses greater than S/ 181 million for criminal organizations. In Madre de Dios, joint operations have caused damage for more than S/ 33 million.

In addition, he assured that a unified command with military, police and peasant rounds has been formed, and three strategic control points have been established in Qualquiche, Shicún and Pamparacra, with the support of entities such as Sunat, Sucamec, Migrations, Sutran and the Ministry of Energy and Mines.

Permanent presence of the State

Boluarte said that by 2026 intelligence operations against criminal networks will be intensified, consolidating a state presence sustained in the most affected territories. In that sense, he pointed out that the Pataz experience will be replicated as an intervention model, with effective protocols, decentralized supervision and institutional strengthening.

“The permanent presence of the State in areas such as this is a concrete sample of the new way of governing: with firmness, legality and respect for communities,” he said.

The president also defended the use of exception states in high -risk areas, noting that more than 12,000 military troops have been deployed to combat illegal mining, terrorism and other crimes.

“This government has acted with responsibility and determination, using the states of exception when they have been necessary,” he emphasized.
