Former president Jair Bolsonaro presented a new bout of hiccups and high blood pressure on Saturday night (27) after undergoing a procedure to block the right phrenic nervereported this Sunday (28) the DF Star Hospital. According to the most recent medical bulletin, Bolsonaro is currently stable and has no hiccups.
This Monday (29), the former president will undergo a new intervention to block the left phrenic nerve, responsible for controlling the diaphragm, to complete the treatment that aims to alleviate hiccups. Bolsonaro will also continue with physiotherapy for rehabilitation, measures to prevent venous thrombosis and clinical care.
This will be the former president’s third procedure since hospitalization on the 24th. On Thursday (25), Bolsonaro underwent his first surgery, to treat an inguinal hernia.
On Saturday, the former president underwent a second intervention, to block the right phrenic nerve. Bolsonaro is being monitored daily to check whether the procedures to reduce hiccups have been successful.
At the beginning of last week, former president was authorized by minister Alexandre de Moraesof the Federal Supreme Court (STF), to leave the Federal Police Superintendence, in Brasília, for internment. Bolsonaro is serving a sentence of 27 years and three months in prison for his conviction for the coup plot.
