The re-elected governor of the Federal District, Ibaneis Rocha, declared today (5) support for the re-election candidacy of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) for the presidency. The two met this Wednesday morning at Palácio da Alvorada, in Brasília.
“The Federal District is host to the main powers, so this harmony, from the beginning, was what we sought.” During the announcement of support, Ibanês mentioned the importance of the federal government in carrying out works in the DF, which has “very strong” of the Constitutional Fund.
The establishment of the Constitutional Fund of the Federal District is provided for in the Constitution and the resources, corrected annually, are used to pay for the organization and maintenance of public security forces, as well as financial assistance for public health and education services. In 2022, the fund’s budget forecast is R$ 16.28 billion.
In the first round of the elections, candidate Bolsonaro obtained 51.65% of the valid votes in the Federal District. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva got 36.85% of preference from the capital’s electorate.
According to Bolsonaro, this harmony between the powers and entities of the federation is important for governability. “There is nothing better for a President of the Republic than having a friendly governor by his side. Everyone wins, especially governability,” he said.
“Today, you can see the profile of new or re-elected parliamentarians in the Chamber and Senate, a more conservative profile, more family, a profile with more economic freedom. In other words, everything is paved so that harmony is complete between the Executive and the Legislative, for the good of our dear Brazil”, added Bolsonaro.
