Reelection candidate Jair Bolsonaro (PL) was this morning (26) at the headquarters of the Commercial Association of São Paulo, in downtown São Paulo, for the opening ceremony of the auditorium of the headquarters building. In a meeting with associates, he spoke for about 40 minutes on various subjects such as coping with the pandemic, international politics and electoral disputes.
Bolsonaro defended early treatment for covid-19 and criticized confinement during the pandemic: “You have to face reality, we cannot have a country of cowards. Same as the trench in combat. If you stay inside the trench, you will die, or someone will throw a grenade in there. You have to fight. Respect the virus. Unemployment starves you.”
He also mentioned the National Support Program for Micro and Small Businesses (Pronampe), which generates resources for loans to the sector. “Almost 3 million jobs were created. It’s not me who creates jobs, it’s the entrepreneur, the entrepreneur the farmer”.
Regarding international politics, Bolsonaro said he was very well treated around the world, especially by the Arab world. “We did our part, today we have our food security guaranteed, which every country is looking for,” he said. He took the opportunity to criticize the situation of other Latin American countries, such as Argentina, Venezuela, Chile and Colombia on issues such as drug legalization and abortion.
In the early afternoon, Bolsonaro gave an interview to Programa Pânico, on radio and TV Jovem Pan. He highlighted the actions in the area of agribusiness, economy and public security. The reelection candidate also said that the federal government reduced taxes and respected fiscal responsibility.
Regarding the September 7 celebrations, Bolsonaro said he will parade in green and yellow. The candidate cited a decision by the president of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), Alexandre de Moraes, who vetoed the placement of federal government propaganda in allusion to the celebrations of the bicentennial of Brazil’s independence.
“The big problem is our freedom, which is at stake. We’ll end up losing that if we don’t worry. This green and yellow decision seems to be nothing, but it’s important. In my opinion, my people must be analyzing this. If the understanding was to use the green and yellow shirt, I will use it”, he said.
