The approximately 21 million Bolsa Família beneficiaries can now check the payment date for the social program. The Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fight Against Hunger (MDS) released this Monday (23) the calendar of benefits for the entire next year.
Payments will take place in the last ten working days of each month, staggered according to the final digit of the Social Registration Number (NIS), except in December, when the schedule is brought forward by around a week due to Christmas. Deposits will begin on January 20th, for families with NIS ending 1, and will end on December 23rd, for families with NIS ending 0.
To avoid losing the benefit, the MDS recommends that each beneficiary update their and their family’s data in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico) every 24 months. After approval of the cost-cutting package, the process will require biometrics.
Updating the data requires the person responsible for the family to go to a social assistance service point, such as the Social Assistance Reference Center (Cras), or to a Single Registry service point. In addition to presenting documents for each person in the family, the beneficiary must prove household income.
Rule
Bolsa Família is paid to those who have an income of, at most, R$218 per month for each member of the family who lives in the same house, in addition to being registered with CadÚnico. Registration is done at social assistance service points in the municipalities. When recreating Bolsa Família, in March 2023, the Federal Government started to guarantee a minimum transfer of R$600 per registered family, with additional payments depending on the composition of the family. Payments are made via the Caixa Tem app or can be withdrawn at ATMs by anyone with a social program card.
The Nutriz Family Variable Benefit pays six installments of R$50 to mothers of babies up to six months of age, to guarantee the child’s nutrition. Bolsa Família also pays an additional R$50 to families with pregnant women and children aged 7 to 18 and another R$150 to families with children up to 6 years old.
