Applications for the Bolsa Atleta Program, of the Municipal Department of Sports and Leisure of São Paulo, are open until april 27. Young people between the ages of 14 and 21 who have obtained good results in competitions and who are enrolled in an educational institution or who have completed high school can apply. The expectation is that 100 athletes can benefit from the scholarship.
The Bolsa Atleta program offers a monthly allowance of R$ 624.28 for athletes between 14 and 17 years old. For those aged between 18 and 21, the price is BRL 1,248.55. The transfer is made for 12 months.
This year, the total budget for the program will be R$ 555 thousand, half of which will go to athletes from the city of São Paulo. The remainder will go to athletes who are part of the Olympic Training and Research Center, a sports complex that trains and develops high-performance athletes in eleven modalities.
Requirement
The program requires athletes to be members of modalities that are part of the Paris-2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games or the Santiago-2023 Pan American and Parapan American Games and that the state federations have registered with the secretariat their main state competition of 2021.
In addition, the candidate for a scholarship will not be able to receive sponsorships, salaries from the sports organization or sports scholarship from public entities.
