The Bolivian men’s team had a good start in the Copa Los Andes Golf South American Team Championship, which is being held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, by beating Ecuador 4-0 to earn two points.

This Wednesday the traditional international tournament began, which brings together nine teams from South America, since one country does not participate in each edition having been last and relegated a year before.

Bolivia attended with its men’s and women’s teams: Flavio Sameja, Vicente Quiroga, Camilo Ávila, Benjamín Chávez, José Luis Montaño, Florencia Cuéllar, Victoria Suárez, Mara Dajer, Sofía Blanco and Constanza Quiroga.

They were accompanied by captain Diego Arana, coaches Alejandro Olmos and Oscar Mariscal, as well as delegate Genaro Sanjinés, president of the Bolivian Golf Federation (FBG).

The competition modality is confrontations against each team, both in singles and in pairs (36 holes per day) to add the greatest number of points and thus finish at the top of the classification.

The competition is held on the Pilar Golf course, where in the morning there was the pairs test and in the afternoon, the singles test.

Bolivia added two points by beating Ecuador 4-0 in doubles; while against Venezuela they lost 3-1.

The women’s team lost 4-0 in doubles with Venezuela and Brazil.

The singles matches were not concluded due to the weather situation of the day and for that reason, the initial plan is to resume said games on Thursday morning and resume the schedule once the matches have concluded.
