The Bolivian Hugo Dellien took a great leap in the world tennis rankings. The man from Beni climbed 15 positions and entered the top 100 of the Association of Professional Tennis Players (ATP), which ranked it 96th worldwide. The first place corresponds to the Serbian Novak Djokovic.

Dellien’s good performance at the Rio Open was decisive for the Bolivian to be among the best, with a total of 561 points in the classification. In Brazil he reached the quarterfinals in an ATP 500 tournament, where several of the best ranked players in the world participated.

His best placement as a professional tennis player was 64th place, which he achieved in 2020. The ‘Tigre de Moxos’ is currently the number one racket in the country.

In second place in the world ranking is the Spanish Carlos Alcaraz, who lost last Sunday to the British Cameron Norrie (12) in the final of the Rio de Janeiro tournament, a week after winning the Buenos Aires tournament.
