Óscar Villegas, technical director of the Bolivian team, confirmed that La Verde will train one day before playing against Ecuador in the stadium that will host the match. This is the Monumental Banco Pichincha in Guayaquil, the venue that will host the match corresponding to date 11 of the South American Qualifiers on Thursday, November 14, starting at 8:00 p.m.

“We are going to have one hour, which is prudent and necessary the day before the game. Surely it will be very good for us to get to know the field,” said the Cochabamba coach.

Villegas stressed that the visit to the Monumental is not about a simple recognition, but there he will finish applying the latest concepts to those he directs.

“It will be very beneficial to know what the field is like; We will be able to adapt a little to the blows and the route. It is estimated that we will train from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., although I would have liked to do it at another time,” he added to Futbolmanía.

Likewise, he highlighted the good predisposition of the members of the Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF) for having granted the corresponding permission for the team to train in the stadium.

“The thing is that there are times when people try to be fair. “Ecuador will train later than us, they will do it practically at night, and saying no to Bolivia would have been a bit complicated,” he said.

The Banco Pichincha Monumental Stadium, located in the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador, is an icon of South American soccer and will be the scene of the crucial match between Bolivia and Ecuador next Thursday, November 14 at 8:00 p.m. With a capacity for 59,283 spectators, this stadium is the largest in the country and has witnessed historic moments in Ecuadorian sports. Its inauguration took place on December 27, 1987 and since then it has hosted numerous international events, including the Copa América and the Copa Libertadores.

An indelible memory in the history of the stadium was the 1-1 draw between Bolivia and Ecuador on September 19, 1993, a result that allowed the Bolivian team to qualify for the 1994 World Cup in the United States. This milestone marked a before and after in Bolivian football, since it is the only Green team to qualify for a World Cup on its own merit.
