With the presence of 60 golfers (30 in women and 30 in men) Cochabamba will host the youth South American of this sport, that will be held from March 22 to 25 in Bolivia. Golfers from 10 countries of the continent will participate.
“We understand the realities of South American golf. Bolivia is committed and is doing its best to make a good presentation. With a view to the South American, we did four qualifiers with the presence of players from all departments. From there we obtained the group of six nominees this year,” said Genaro Sanjinés, president of the Bolivian Golf Federation (FBG).
The selection is made up of: Benjamín Chávez, from Las Palmas Country Club (LPCC), Vicente Quiroga, from the Cochabamba Country Club (CCC), Jorge del Solar (CCC), Constanza Quiroga (CCC), Sofía Blanco, from the Urubó Golf Country Club (UGCC) and Victoria Suárez (UGCC).
This Thursday morning, the conference to present the international competition was held at the CCC, which will host the tournament for children under 18 years of age.
“Now we will receive for the first time in Cochabamba to the best juniors in the region. We await the arrival of the best from Argentina, Paraguay, Colombia, Chile… in short, we all know that it will be a championship of the highest level and we will receive them in the best way. We are waiting for you in Bolivia!” Sanjinés pointed out.
The international delegations will begin to arrive in the country from this Saturday, March 18, while Monday and Tuesday will be the official practices.
The tournament will have a total of 72 holes.that is, 18 will be played per day.
“The course has narrow fairways that bring the challenge of keeping the ball in play, and a challenge for all players. The greens also have a lot of movement. We are at 2,300 meters above sea level, which gives a different dynamic to the championship. The field is prepared”, indicated the head of the FBG.
