Bolivia enables export of bovine meat and avian to the Egypt market

Bolivia consolidated the opening of Egypt as a new destination for bovine meat and Aviar, a market considered strategic due to its size and level of consumption. Health authorization, granted after the approval of the Veterinary Export Certificate, will allow four Bolivian refrigerators start operations In the coming weeks.

The manager of the National Chamber of Exporters of Bolivia (Caneb), Marcelo Olguín, stressed that this opening not only diversifies exports, but also positions the country in a market with “high demand for animal protein” and with more favorable conditions of sale than those of China.

The director of the Federation of Livestocks of Santa Cruz (Fegasacruz), Javier Landívar, explained that Egypt demands special cuts with greater added value, which will increase the income from exported ton. The livestock sector has a surplus of at least 100,000 tons of beef and foresees that The first shipment takes place in a month.

Bolivia has an exportable quota of 44,000 tons of bovine meat. Of that total, 28,600 have already been placed in external markets, which confirms the country’s productive capacity. In 2024, meat sales reached 92.7 million dollars, and in 2025 they reached 189.3 million.

The opening of Egypt adds to other markets won in recent years and is projected as an opportunity to consolidate Bolivia as a reliable animal protein supplier in high consumption regions.
