Bolivar beat Independiente Petrolero (3-0) with a lot of work and comfortably leads the Clausura tournament of the Professional Division of Bolivian football. The match was played on Wednesday night at the Hernando Siles stadium in La Paz, as part of the 16th round.

The sky blues reached 37 points and extended the difference with The Strongestwhich is in second place, with 30 points, after tying with Nacional in Potosí this same day. Independiente is in eleventh place, with 16 points.

The La Paz academy took the initiative from the beginning, But the best part of the match came from the 20th minute to the half hour mark.

Diego Vargas (20′) first worried goalkeeper Rubén Cordano with a powerful shot from outside the area. A minute later it was the turn of his teammate Francisco Gatti, who rushed to finish instead of looking for Juan Godoy who was waiting alone and the shot was blocked by Cordano.

When the Chuquisaca team was playing better, Bolívar scored. Tonino Melgar sent a cross looking for Fernando Saucedo and in his effort to clear the ball, Yosser Suárez (29′) scored his own goal, surprising goalkeeper Gustavo Salvatierra.

In the second period, ‘Inde’ was encouraged, he reached the rival goal more than the home team, but just as it happened in the first half, when things were going better, Bolívar’s second goal arrived.

The 2-0 was a true wonder goal from a free kick by the sky blue captain Leonel Justiniano (59′). His right-footed shot entered the top left corner of the goal defended by goalkeeper Salvatierra, who had no reaction to that impeccable shot.

The visitors attacked frequently, but The sky blues did it with more danger And proof of this is that in the 67th minute, Ervin Vaca sent the ball to the crossbar with a left-footed shot, after receiving a pass from Ramiro Vaca.

The Chuquisaca people earned the advantage of discounting, first with a free kick by Wilfredo Soleto (73′), which found Cordano well positioned, and then with a shot from Juan Godoy (80′), after connecting with a cross from the left.

In stoppage time, Tonino Melgar missed a penalty for Bolívar, but the action had to be retaken because goalkeeper Salvatierra had moved forward, according to referee from Santa Cruz, Ivo Méndez. On the second chance, Melgar (96′) did not fail and the match ended 3-0.
