Bolivar, after the brilliant debut of their Brazilian reinforcements Bruno Savio and Chico in their country’s leaguewill face Deportivo Lara from Venezuela this Wednesday for the first leg of the first phase of the Copa Libertadores-2022.
Three goals from Bruno Savio and two from Chico led Bolívar’s crushing 7-0 victory against Blooming on Sunday, a rival that used an alternative eleven due to delays in the registration of its new players, on the first date of the season in Bolivian soccer.
Lara, meanwhile, will play her first official match in 2022.
The outward crossing is carried out at La Carolina Stadium, in Barinas, where the Venezuelan team beat Bolivia 4-1 on January 28 in the South American qualifiers for the Qatar-2022 World Cup, in the debut of the Argentine José Pekerman as coach of the Vinotinto.
The second leg will be played next Wednesday, February 16 in the Hernando Siles, at 3,600 meters above sea level in La Paz.
The winner will face the Catholic University of Ecuador in the second round. on February 23 and March 2.

Directed by Jorge Duran, Lara is a team with young talent. Telasco Segovia is one of his greatest promises, a fundamental piece in the midfield and at 18 years international with Venezuela, present in his country’s pre-World Cup victory against Bolivia.
Durán took the technical direction of the rojinegros this year, after having had the responsibility to cover Leonardo González during his stay in the Venezuelan team as interim coach, prior to the arrival of Pekerman.
“These responsibilities have already touched me (…). We must take on new challenges and more so if we have a Copa Libertadores, in which we must compete,” he told the press upon being confirmed.
With a view to the international event, Lara added pieces of experience to her young squad such as midfielder Aristóteles Romero -a player who briefly passed through the Italian Serie A-, midfielder Johan Moreno and two returns: central Henri Pernía and attacker Johan Arrieche.

“We did what we had to doscore goals and try to play a good game”, Zago celebrated before the Bolivian press after his successful league debut.
