Bogotá is getting ready for a new Night of Museums: When?

Bogota residents are preparing to enjoy a unique day full of art, history and culture. Here’s what you should know!

The country’s capital is preparing for one of its most anticipated days of the year: a night full of history, art, culture and a lot of magic.

This November 7, Bogota residents will be able to enjoy the traditional Museum Night, an event that has already become a cultural reference for the city.

Bogotá, recognized for its unique aura and its history marked in every cornerwill once again be filled with lights, music and visitors touring its museum and heritage spaces.

This edition promises to be an unforgettable experience, with a wide range of educational and cultural activities distributed in at least 16 locations.

This was confirmed by the Mayor’s Office of Bogotáwhich announced the event as “a great cultural meeting that invites you to tour the city through its museum, heritage and artistic spaces, with a day in which more than 80 museums and cultural spaces will open their doors with tours, exhibitions, workshops, conversations, educational activities, theatrical, musical and dance interventions in the streets, to celebrate the power of museums as places that inspire, educate and transform.” The best: Admission is completely free for all citizens.

A tradition that grows every year

Although this experience is already recognized among the capital’s residents, the edition of 2025 will mark its sixth version. Since its first event, Museum Night has captivated more than 150,000 attendees and has established itself as one of the most anticipated dates for art lovers and those who enjoy the cultural plans that the city offers.

In the previous edition, more than 58 museum and cultural spaces opened their doors, managing to activate 12 locations. This year, the bet grows with new experiences and more places to visit, including traditional museums, independent spaces, cultural centers, galleries and heritage sites.

For the second time in a row, they will be delivered 5,000 museum passports, an element that seeks to encourage citizens to continue exploring the city’s cultural spaces beyond the event.

The dynamic is simple: those who claim their passport will be able to visit the greatest number possible of museums, seal each visit and be attentive to the surprises and activations that will take place until April 2026.

Security and support

To guarantee a calm and responsible day, the Mayor’s Office announced the support of the Tourism Police and Local Mayors, who will be in charge of accompanying the tours and providing logistical support during the night.

For its part, the District Tourism Institute (IDT) will carry out measurements of attendance and citizen perception in order to strengthen tourism and culture policies in the capital. These data will allow the event to be consolidated as an international reference. and project new strategies to promote Bogotá’s cultural offering.
