The body of a woman trapped under the rubble in a collapsed building in La Vega was found lifeless, according to the general of the province’s Fire Department, César Abreu.
The young woman was identified as Yasiris Joaquín de Jesús, approximately 31 years old, who was a collapsed multi-furniture employee and had only recently joined, after a maternity leave.
According to Abreu’s statements, Yaneris Joaquín was on the first level of the facilities, so the other three levels fell on her, causing her death instantly.

The body was recovered after 9:30 p.m.
The collapse of the building located on Las Carreras street, Esquina Sánchez, occurred around noon on Wednesday.
