LIMA, Peru – The Cuban Railway Union reported that investigations continue after the body of a person was found last Sunday on a section of the railway line in Santiago de Cuba.

According to the report, also cited by the official press of the Castro regime, the authorities’ preliminary investigation indicates that the death was not caused by a train accident.
“Investigations confirm that the individual was not hit by a train,” the statement highlights.
He explained that the section where the body appeared is only used by national trains for car reversal maneuvers and that during the night before the discovery no convoy circulated through the area.
“The competent authorities continue with the corresponding investigations to clarify the fact. We will keep the population informed through our official channels,” says Ferrocarriles de Cuba.
The reported homicide occurs in a context of growing insecurity, with increases in robberies and assaults reported by independent media and monitoring organizations. A report from the Cuban Observatory of Citizen Audit (OCAC) —disseminated by Cuba Siglo 21— speaks of a “historical record of crime” in 2025 and details increases in robberies, assaults and murders.
Also this week, a young self-employed woman, identified on social networks as Heidy León Domínguez, would have been murdered on the night of last Thursday in Havana during an assault, when he was trying to prevent the theft of his bicycle taxi, according to public complaints on Facebook from relatives and activists.
The same sources also reported that two young people who accompanied her were seriously injured.
So far there is no official confirmation from the authorities about the incident.
“Brothers, I don’t even know how to break this horrible news, last night my friend was personally murdered (…). She fought like a lioness defending her bicycle taxi (her livelihood). Two girls who were with her when the events happened are also seriously injured (…)”, Dyango Pulido Vives wrote on Facebookfriend of the victim. The message was widely replicated by media and Facebook groups.
