After authorities from the Ministry of Government, the Social Security Fund, the Governor’s Office of Bocas del Toro, and the Ministry of Health, held a meeting with organized groups in the province, Minister Luis Francisco Sucre assured that they reached important agreements.
The organized groups in the province specifically requested improvements in the health system, the appointment of specialists, the setting up of an intensive care room, among others.
Regarding the intensive care room, Sucre said that the Social Security Fund has already promised to establish it and that on March 22 they will meet to define the date on which the installation will take place. Regarding the appointment of specialists, he assured that it is a very complex issue that in the long term will take about 2 years to be resolved, since health personnel have already been sent to specialize another to make the appointments.
