Argentine Boca Juniors qualified for the round of 16 of the Copa Sudamericana 2024 by beating Ecuadorian team Independiente del Valle 1-0 (partial 0-0), in the playoff rematch played on Wednesday night at La Bombonera in front of some 50,000 spectators.
Uruguayan Edinson Cavani (39) scored the only goal of the night for the celebration of the Xeneize, who won a match in regular time in an elimination match after almost four seasons.
In the round of 16, Boca will face Cruzeiro from Brazil, in a series with the first episode in Buenos Aires or Quito, and the rematch in Belo Horizonte.
