Boat party on Lake Villarrica generates concern in local authorities: since Saturday they are in Phase 2

During the weekend just past, hundreds of young people were registered through social networks holding parties on boats on Lake Villarrica. Action that caused the concern of local authorities.

The meetings were held in the Bellavista sector of the Villarrica commune, in the La Araucanía region.

The concern of the event lies in the fact that the communes of Pucón and Villarrica have been in Phase 2 (Transition) since last Wednesday, in the case of the first, and since Saturday the second.

The presidential delegate of La Araucanía, Victor Manoli, referred to what was recorded during this weekend, highlighting his concern about the high consumption of alcohol by young people.

“It is a tremendous irresponsibility on the part of these young people, where they are also seen consuming alcohol inside the lake, which could have caused serious accidents,” he said.

“We cannot accept, let alone tolerate, this type of act. Less because of the situation we are experiencing as a pandemic, since no one is immune to the virus,” he added.

“I contacted the port captaincy and explicitly requested that inspections be increased, since we do not want to regret fatal events due to the irresponsibility of these people who meet inside the lake to consume alcohol, driving boats,” closed the authority.
