Another misfortune on Lake Titicaca. A boat with 4 occupants sank in the jurisdiction of the Tiziwa community, Juli district, Chucuito province. Two workers drowned and their two colleagues survived.

According to investigations, at 10 pm on Friday, four workers, apparently from a company dedicated to raising trout, entered the lake in a small boat, however, due to the strong waves, the accident occurred.
Two workers unfortunately disappeared and another two survived by clinging to the boat and asking for help. The Tiziwa community members, using several boats, managed to rescue her alive and transfer her to the health facility.
While two others disappeared in the lake. In the morning hours of this Saturday, the rescue work was carried out by the Coast Guard personnel of the Peruvian Navy and the locals.
After the search, they managed to recover the bodies of Héctor Calizaya and Froilán Salazar, who would be from the communities of Inca Apacheta and Vilcallami. The relatives starred in dramatic scenes of pain at the time of the proceedings to remove the corpses.
