The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) will provide R $ 2.1 billion to finance the sale of 16 Embraer aircraft to the US airline Republic Airways, which operates exclusively with aircraft from the Brazilian manufacturer.
The E-175 model aircraft will be delivered by Embraer in 2025 and Republic Airways will pay the BNDES dollars.
According to the bank’s president, Aloizio Mercadante, Embraer is the main exporter of high value added goods in Brazil and maintains more than 87% of 21,000 jobs in national territory.
Foundation in Brazil, Embraer projects, develops, manufactures and markets aircraft and systems and has business in the areas of commercial and executive aviation, defense and safety and agricultural aviation. Since 1997, BNDES has funded about $ 26 billion to export more than 1,300 Embraer aircraft.
Republic Airways operates a fleet of over 200 Embraer E-110 and E-115 and offers regular passengers with 900 daily flights on more than 80 cities in the United States and Canada under American Eagle, Delta Connection and United brands, Express.
