The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) will finance the exchange of diesel generators for photovoltaic plants for energy consumers in the North Region. The operation that will allow the financing has been approved today (11) by the bank.
The operation will allow financing for around 1,600 projects within a period of up to 150 months for the installation of photovoltaic solar systems in homes and businesses located in the region. Before approving the credit, the feasibility of the system must be evaluated. The company designated by BNDES for this assessment will be Solfácil.
According to the bank’s estimates, each investment should have an average cost of around R$37,000 and will be 100% financed. In all, there will be about 12 MWp (megawatts-peak) of installed capacity, equivalent to the consumption of almost seven thousand families.
without intermediation
Thus, the final consumer will be able to to have access to BNDES resources without the traditional intermediation of banks. “The operation will contribute to democratizing access to solar generation for energy consumers in the North Region, allowing greater access to credit at the tip and promoting banking deconcentration”, said the director of Credit Concession to Infrastructure at BNDES, Solange Vieira.
According to the BNDES, adherence to clean energy will allow consumers to save up to 90% on their electricity bills. “The compensation will be enough to pay the financing”, says the bank. After the loan is settled, the consumer will be the owner of the photovoltaic system, which has an expected lifespan of 25 years.
