The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) opened a public selection to define a partnership in the preparation of studies for the implementation of the Marine Space Project (PEM), in the sea of southern Brazil. The idea is to carry out a survey of this region with ecological, economic and social objectives.
The result of the public selection will be announced in April 28th 2023 and the forecast is that the studies will be concluded in 36 months. The project foresees financing in the amount of R$ 7 million for the winning proposal.
The PEM for the southern marine region of the country is a pilot project that could be taken to other areas of the Brazilian coast. The announcement was made during COP15, the United Nations Biodiversity Conference taking place in Canada. More information about the call is available at www.bndes.gov.br/chamadafep-pem??
