The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) launched today (11) with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Banco Nacional de Obras y Servicios Públicos SNC, from Mexico (Banobras) and Alide, an association that brings together Latin American development banks, the Latam Projects Hub platform.
It will offer investors a unified view of investment opportunities in concessions, public-private partnerships and privatizations in the region. Built on the initiative of BNDES, the new platform will include strategic information about the projects.
According to the institution, the intention is to take advantage of the bank’s portfolio of infrastructure and privatization projects, which, according to a ranking by consultancy Infralogic, is currently the largest in the world, and also the portfolio of Mexico, sponsored by Banobras. This will be the starting point for the unprecedented regional portal, which should be expanded to other countries in the region with the support of the IDB and Alide. The association acts as the hub manager.
For the president of BNDES, Gustavo Montezano, it is strategic to have Brazilian assets positioned alongside others in the region. “This allows investors to see synergy in multinational operations. We are in a global competition where information and transparency are two essential assets in attracting capital,” he said.

For the BNDES’ director of Concessions and Privatizations, Fábio Abrahão, the portal is a regional platform that will allow the identification of investment opportunities for funds and infrastructure operators around the world. “This is unprecedented and will facilitate the attraction of investors to the region, accessing markets that today are not aware of these opportunities”, he explained.

The IDB’s representative in Brazil, Morgan Doyle, called attention to the international organization’s partnership with the BNDES. “BNDES is a fundamental partner for the IDB. Through the platform, among other joint initiatives, we will enable large sustainable investments that will contribute to the recovery of our economies. Access to the Project Hub can also be done through the website of the Investment Monitorwhich is the Ministry of Economy’s digital platform launched last Mondaythursday (9).
