Estimates for this year were made by the director of infrastructure, energy transition and climate change of the bank, Luciana Costa. It cites as the main reason for this increase the mechanism created by the Ministry of Transport to unlock investments in road roads.

“There were many highways whose concession period should be extended, a rebalanced tariff and new investments made,” says Luciana. “Then, Minister Renan Filho, instead of reliving these concessions, created an instrument in which these concessions are optimized, with all the Players relevant table renegotiating the new concession conditions. With this, the country manages to unlock between $ 100 billion and $ 120 billion of investments. ”

“Brazil has the largest volume of road concession in the world and a safe and effective regulatory framework, conditions that attract local and international companies and investors. Until the previous government, the historical average of auctions was 1.8 auction per year. Last year, seven auctions were made and, by 2025, 15 auctions are planned, which should mobilize $ 163 billion investments, in a mesh of almost 8.5 thousand kilometers, ”says BNDES President Aloizio Mercadante.

BNDES highlights two “relevant milestones” of the bank’s performance in the road in 2024. One is the financing of the Presidente Dutra Highway (Via Dutra), a stretch of BR-116 that connects the two largest cities in the country, with innovative modeling. The other, publication of a letter to investors, who detailed in advance the funding conditions to the future concessionaire of BR-381, in Minas Gerais. Last year’s auction was successful after three frustrated attempts since 2012.

The BNDES infrastructure area repeated the letter’s strategy to investors today (18), to support the concession of the Agro Norte route, a stretch of BR-364 in Rondônia that connects the capital Porto Velho to the city of Vilhena.

The document shows the bank’s financial support conditions: financing (direct or non -automatic indirect or indirect), the subscription of debentures and the provision of a fidejusted guarantee. The initial work, recovery, expansion and improvements in the road system of the road system, construction of toll squares and other operational and user support facilities, acquisition of systems and equipment and social and environmental investments, among other items, are funded. Expenditure on expropriation and imported equipment with a similar or non -accredited similar equipment – Special Agency for Industrial Financing, Brazilian public company, subsidiary of BNDES are not funded.
